Prayagraj, September 28, 2025 — Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University (RPNLU), Prayagraj, has instituted the Ravi Kant Memorial Gold Medal to commemorate the life and legacy of Late Senior Advocate Shri Ravi Kant, a highly respected figure of the Allahabad High Court Bar Association. The announcement was made during the Valedictory Ceremony of the Conquerors and Grand Intra Moot Court Competition 2025.
The endowment was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Sr. Prof. (Dr.) Usha Tandon, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of RPNLU, and Mr. Tarun Agrawal, son of Late Shri Ravi Kant. The signing took place in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Guest, Justice Arun Kumar Singh Deshwal, Judge, High Court of Judicature at Allahabad. The event was also graced by Prof. (Dr.) Kavita Solanki, Faculty, USLLS, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, as Guest of Honour.

In his address, Justice Arun Kumar Singh Deshwal highlighted the profound significance of this initiative, noting that the gold medal immortalizes the exemplary service of Shri Ravi Kant. He emphasized that the award reflects the University’s ethos:

Justice Deshwal described the medal as a symbol of enduring recognition and inspiration for future generations.

Late Senior Advocate Shri Ravi Kant began his legal practice in 1969 after graduating in law from the University of Allahabad. Beyond his professional achievements, he was a generous mentor who guided countless lawyers and judges, leaving an indelible mark on India’s legal fraternity.
