Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna has made an impressive leap in the India Today 2025 ranking of educational institutions, emerging as the best-performing university in Bihar. In the Emerging Law Colleges category, CNLU secured the 4th rank, and among government institutions, it was placed 8th. Overall, the university ranked 12th in the country, reflecting its growing academic reputation.

Expressing satisfaction over the university’s upward trajectory, Prof. (Dr.) Faizan Mustafa, Vice-Chancellor of CNLU, stated:
“The students of CNLU are as good as those in any other leading national law university. Our faculty has started focusing on quality publications. I had to make a few tough and unpleasant decisions in the long-term interest of the institution to unlock its full potential.”
Prof. Mustafa also emphasized that CNLU has produced the highest number of judicial officers among NLUs and will soon excel in producing civil servants, thanks to the newly established Civil Services Academy within the university.
