Call for Papers: International Conference on Indian Knowledge Systems | School of Law, Bennett University

School of Law, Bennett University, Greater Noida is organising an International Conference on Indian Knowledge Systems: Retracing Anthropological and Literary Contributions’ 2025 scheduled to be held from3-4 April 2025.

About the Conference

Anthropological and literary studies are the key means to gain knowledge of cultural practices of any region and “Literature is often understood to be one of anthropology’s most recurrent and provocative companions in thought.” (Brandel, 2020). Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) comprise wisdom of diverse cultural practices of geographically suitable indigenous modes of living and its continuation through oral and written literary practices. The varied ways of culturally rich, sustainable living in India that had evolved over generations, require revival in the postcolonial Indian context to bring these to the contemporary generations’ sight.

Conference Themes

Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) as living traditions. Relevance of IKS in the present Education system Indian Literature (in English and other Indian Languages) and IKS Ancient Indian History and IKS IKS and Law Indian art, culture, indigenous practices and IKS IKS for the Modern world Foundational Literature of Indian Civilisation and Vedic Literature Indian Mythology and adaptations Classical Literature of India Governance, Development Mechanisms, and IKS Family, community, traditions, local groups, and organizations Women and IKS Poets in Ancient Indian History The themes are suggestive and not restricted to the above topics. Interested participants can relate to other relevant areas connected to the conference themes.

Submission Guidelines

Submission of Abstract

The extended abstract should be between 1000-1200 words and must indicate the theme of the proposed research with 5 relevant keywords. It must be accompanied by a cover page which should include:

Note: The extended abstracts will be published in conference proceedings with an ISBN number and selected full papers will be published in an edited book with a reputed publisher.
